Welcome to the 2026 AFGE Leadership Summit

For the first time in nearly a decade, AFGE will host a Leadership Summit where leaders will work together to build a new strategic plan for our union from the ground up as we look at what’s ahead for AFGE in the next five years.

Here’s what to expect:

Every single voice will count in the development of this plan thanks to collaboration tools that allow attendees to submit their ideas for each exercise directly from their phones. Ideas go to a team of fellow AFGE leaders who will capture the best ones and share them with the room/build them into the plan in real time.

Every part of AFGE will be represented at the conference using a max-mix seating program. The full scope of different agencies, work experiences, tenure, demographics, and leadership roles will be dispersed evenly across the room so every perspective is heard.

This plan belongs to leaders at every level of AFGE with meeting topics being decided by an all-leaders survey that will go out before the meeting. YOU are the union, and this plan will be guided from start to finish by what YOU believe is most critical for our long-term success.
